Tell the MN Senate “Yes to Homes!”

Minnesota faces a 100,000 home deficit, leaving some without a stable, affordable place to live. Thank you for being part of the thousands of Minnesotans and dozens of organizations who have spoken up to say “Yes to Homes” this year along with our bipartisan legislative champions. Together we introduced and advanced pro-homes bills to allow more homes to be built in more places across the state, in a variety of styles, at lower costs.

Unfortunately, we still face opposition by some legislators, local elected leaders, and multi-city associations. At this point, there does not appear to be a path forward on the full set of policies we hoped to pass - that will be a multi year fight.

That said, we can still make important progress this year with your help. The MN Senate is scheduled to vote on some pieces of our Yes to Homes bills in a hearing on Thursday 5/1 after they finish Floor Session.

We want to make it clear to our legislators how important these bills are to our community.
Exact timing is hard to predict so we encourage people to join us from 3:00-5:00pm outside Senate Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Capitol. We will walk over to the Senate Building together once the floor session ends. (Don't worry, if we are still waiting for the hearing to start we have plenty of ways for you to engage.)

Can you join us at the capitol to attend this hearing and show support for more homes? Will you invite others to come along with you?

By taking these steps together, we can ensure every Minnesotan, from every neighborhood and every income level, has a roof over their head.

Thank you for being a part of this vital effort.

In partnership and solidarity,

Sustain Saint Paul
