Cody Fischer Ward 1

Cody Fischer is principal and founder of Footprint Development, which develops, owns and manages carbon-smart, climate-resilient, multifamily housing in walkable, bike-able, transit-rich Twin Cities neighborhoods.

Footprint’s approach is rooted in building-science to produce enduring, low carbon footprint, low operating cost, climate-resilient assets that meet the Twin Cities’ rising demand for healthier, quieter, attainably priced housing where people can live, work, and play.

A passionate housing, transportation, climate and social justice advocate, Cody believes the quality, form, materials and methods we use to create our built environment have profound implications for human health, wellbeing, resiliency and the planet. His ambition is for Footprint projects to be a learning platform for Twin Cities developers, builders and policy makers that accelerates broader adoption of more carbon-smart, climate resilient new construction.

Prior to founding Footprint in 2017, Cody was a consultant in Bain & Company’s London and Chicago offices, and Director of Strategy at CPS. He has a track-record of delivering results for private equity, corporate, nonprofit and public sector partners, and global experience providing strategic and project leadership in multi-stakeholder environments.
